New flower beds created.

General Garden Maintenance

Here are a few examples of lawns and flower/veg beds regularly maintained, garden tidy-ups, paths/car parks gravelled and further restoration projects.

Woodland Steps

Retaining steps were cut and staked in to the hill side to allow access to a very steep woodland garden.

Fencing, Gates & Outbuildings

The garden outbuilding required complete refurbishement. By using Waney Edge Douglas Fir boards the structure retains the original rustic appearance. Some of the structural timbers were replaced with tanalised and pressure treated timber.

The feather edge gate was built, as no "off the shelf" gate would fit the space.

The five bar gate is one of many projects undertaken at this home.

The stock fence became buried in the undergrowth after the supports had rotten away. New supports were installed, the existing wire fence cleaned and reused and the garden is now dog proofed.

Log Stores

These are examples of two recent stores built on a shoe string budget with timber

off-cuts, scraps and pallets.

New Lawns Created (different properties)

Firstly the top layer was scimmed and disposed of. Good quality top soil evenly distributed and compacted. Finally, good quality turf layed and edged. In the following months the lawns were rolled, aerated and treated with a good quality fertiliser.

Garden wall after re-build

Rebuild of Stone Wall

I was commissioned to rebuild a 20ft section of stone wall in Wiltshire. The wall had collapsed to ground level on the clients side and the remaining section of wall was unstable on the neighbouring side. I was also commissioned to remove ivy that had  engulfed the neighbouring property, even growing through window frames in to the bedrooms.

Garden after the makeover

Garden Makeover
The garden was completely overgrown and in need of a complete overhaul. Garden buildings were re-sited, 15 tons of soil were moved by hand to create a large open lawn. Mature shrubs and plants were re-sited and a vegetable patch created. Childrens stilted playhouse was built and painted.
